About me

I aim to express thoughts and ideas that often linger quietly in the background.

Those feelings and reflections many of us share but don’t always articulate. In this space, I use my writing as my voice, a tool for exploration and growth, sharing whatever sparks my interest.

As a spirited soul who thrives on curiosity and connection, I find joy in the simple pleasures of small-town life—whether it’s gathering with friends, wandering through nature, or celebrating the quirks of everyday existence. I proudly embrace my role as the Village Witch, a passionate creator and lifelong learner whose ideas often deviate from the ordinary. My individuality fuels my creativity, inspiring me to transform spaces through writing, art, and home remodeling.

Family is my heart and soul. With eight children—four of mine and four from my husband—we embody a beautiful blend of European, Mexican, and Jamaican cultures. This vibrant mix enriches our lives and perspectives, and I cherish every moment spent together.

I want to share my perspective as I explore the world around me, uncovering whatever captivates my mind. Whether it’s an intriguing news story or a concept I seek to understand, I love sharing my discoveries and insights with others, hoping to spark a thought or a new perspective you haven’t considered before—or perhaps just to acknowledge that you are not alone in the way you think or feel.

With a distinctive witch’s cackle and a firm belief in the transformative power of laughter, I embrace kindness as my guiding principle. I believe that community is a reflection of our shared efforts, and I strive to nurture connections that uplift and inspire.

Join me on this journey as we celebrate the magic of creativity, curiosity, and the beauty of living life authentically!

Today, I’m exploring the depths of a compelling memoir  that has truly opened my eyes: " Uncultured" by Daniella Mestyanek Young. Daniella's story is a gripping account of her life within the Children of God cult, taking us through the complexities of manipulation, indoctrination, and ultimately, her brave escape to find freedom and self-identity.           This book will leave you unsettled, as it should. The powerful memoir provides an unflinching look at her life growing up in the Children of God cult, revealing the systematic abuse she endured and the misogyny and gaslighting she faced in the military. This book wrecked me emotionally; I sobbed for days whenever I thought about the events in this book and the suffering she endured. Daniella’s words filled me with a mix of anger and sadness.
